Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I have to register online?

Yes. We try to keep the entry fee for the event as low as possible. Having registration be 100% online allows us to reduce our costs, thereby keeping the entry fee low. You may pay online using a credit card, debit card, or check.

How can I be sure that I’m registered?

First, you should receive a confirmation email from myraceregistration.com. Second, you may use this link to find out if you are registered: Am I Registered? Last, a confirmed participant list will be available shortly before the event.

Where can I park?

There is parking available at the event site. The cost is included in the entry fee.

Are there relays?

Yes. There are 2 person relays. Most teams will split between a runner and a cyclist, but you may split it however you like.

How does the camping work?

There are two types of camping available: Tent Camping and RV camping. There are a limited number of RV spots with water and electric hook ups. You must contact the event director to reserve and RV spot. Tent camping is available in the open space at the finish line, and at the camping area 1/4 mile from the finish. Spots are on a first come fist serve basis.

What type of food is available?

Food will provided after each event. The trail runs and cyclo-cross events will conclude with drinks and snacks. A cookout will follow the Dirty Du. Vegitarian food is available upon request as part of registration. Rocky Hill Ranch also operates a Saloon on site. Refer to www.rockyhillranch.net for more information. New Belgium Brewery will provide adult beverages throughout the weekend.

Is there a Clydesdale or Athena category?

No. There are only the overall and age group divisions.

What are the rules?

The Dirty Du and cyclo-cross events will follow USAT rules. You may view the full list of rules at www.usatriathlon.org. A USAT license will be required to participate in either event. The trail runs will not require a USAT license.

What kind of equipment do I need to do a race?

There are a few bare essentials that you need to do a race. You will need a mountain bike (anything that is off road worthy will do. No need to have a high tech full suspension racing bike), you must have an ANSI/Snell/CSA certified bike helmet (all bike helmets sold today in the US are certified), and running shoes of some kind. That's the bare minimum, really. You may want a hat for the run, sunglasses for the bike and run, a water bottle or two on the bike is a good idea as well. After that, things like clipless pedals, fancy wheels for your bike, off road racing flats to run in, etc. are all extras.
